We are thrilled to share that “Ali,” a resilient LGBTQ+ asylum seeker who had been navigating the challenging asylum process in Dakar, has finally arrived in Canada! The journey here has been long and filled with obstacles, but Ali never lost hope, thanks to his incredible strength and the unwavering support from Rainbow Haven.

Ali fled his home country due to ongoing persecution, leaving behind his business, family, and friends. His journey was anything but easy—he faced isolation, instability, and uncertainty. Thankfully, Rainbow Haven has been there from the beginning, ensuring he had a safe space, even when times were tough. Canada has granted him a fresh start, and we’re delighted to share that he’s planning to make Montreal his new home.
